Ready for the spring Woodsman's Race
My saws are ready for the spring race.
Last year I didn't even place in the 50cc class. I ran my Stihl MS260 Pro (slightly modified by a race saw builder in Ontario). It is my main work saw. This year, I have made some improvements to my race chain. The saw is much hungrier than it was last year. I still probably won't place with it, but I'll make a lot of noise. Here it is.
I will be competing in the 80cc class this year, also. I just bought a brand new Dolmar PS 7900 and sent it to the same builder for some much more extensive work than the other one had done to it. This saw is extremely hungry. When I start it in my driveway and rev it up, trees for blocks around just fall over in dispair. I very well may win the 80cc class. In fact, if I do well enough in that class with it, I may run it in the 90cc class also (against larger saws). Here it is.
You remember the Honda 50s and 70s that we used to ride when we were kids. This thing has a larger engine than those did. Different type, but bigger.

Food Storage
Kaye uses the middle level of the tower as a pantry. Only non-perishables can go in there, however, because the tower is not heated and it gets pretty cold in there. Click on the pics and you will see that I like Clam Chowder and that the boys like thier cereal. The brownies are for Kaye. No, really. They are.

Very observant grasshopper!
Yes. I did use sand! Where were you when I began this project? You would laugh if you saw it up close.........how it undulates in elevation. The sand was all daddy's idea; how's that for passing the buck? I think I will put treated 2x4's along the edges and stake them down so that they fit real tight along the edges. That ought to keep it fairly stable, huh?
